Couldn’t implement micropub on my main site but webmentions was much easier! I just need to add a buttons haha.

So that is the case indeed. Most blogging platforms have custom domain as a paid options. Not sure how it was before but Tumblr sure does it. A whopping seven bucks.

Dang, I got micropub working–super easy by the way! email was the fastest and beginner-friendly way to authenticate using IndieAuth. Just had to add four lines of code to my homepage–but it seems Neocities doesn’t accept queries from third-party software? I’m not too surprised because it’s a static site host so I might just keep blogging at micro.blog

Rereading my intro post. On the one hand, I feel comfortable microblogging here just for myself. On the other hand, I am keenly aware there are open standards and tools I can implement on my site to microblog on my own terms without relying on a platform. That is my ideal and I want to slowly work on it.

The motivation behind the earlier was to get closer to being able to microblog on my own site. Now I know that for that I need to add micropub. If I get that to work, I might use Quill to microblog on my site.

The post before the last was a test from Quill. Because micro.blog uses the Micropub protocol, it was the easiest way to test logging in through IndieAuth.

With my new custom domain, I created several subdomains for the sites I had deployed across different hosted (ie. Netlify and micro.blog). That reminds me, I still haven’t linked this account anywhere. Not really in a hurry tho.

Just a quick touch up to my micro.blog color scheme. I spent such a long time adding the dark color that I totally forgot about the light one. Well, not anymore!

I’m one step away from buying a domain from Porkbun. I mean, it should be fine right? This is a sound financial decision right? I can’t find a reason why not to 🤔.

Pulled out inspo to make some buttons for my sites (* ^ ω ^) . Very excited to add them.

New idea for the website. Transform Notion databases on my games, books, and films and shows into HTML tables. A digital garden of sorts.

Finished adding my color scheme to the micro.blog account and I’m just realizing how satisfying and fun and dynamic it is to be given the option to personalize my social media page. It makes me realize the importance of that choice having been taken away from users on what became mainstream socmed.

Finishing up Aggretsuko Season 5 and I really gotta make a list of xenofiction stories that touch on complex topics.

Considering commissioning a set of site buttons. Somehow I’m drawing a blank with ideas. Plus, it would be nice to support an artist - is the excuse I keep telling myself because I feel socially pressured to even have a button in the first place.
